DKMA Bespoke Scent Design is a collaborative custom fragrance experience shaped around an idea, a memory, a space, a ritual, or simply something you cannot find anywhere else.

Each project begins with your vision. Through a guided consultation and personalized development process, we translate your preferences, inspirations, atmosphere, and intended use into an original DKMA scent direction.

You do not need to know exactly what you want to create before beginning. An idea is enough.

How the Process Works

Step 1: Tell us what you're imagining
Start with our Bespoke Scent Design Form by selecting the 'Begin a Bespoke Project' button above.

Tell us what you would like to create, who or what the scent is for, how it will be experienced, and what you would like it to express.

You can come to us with a detailed vision or simply a feeling, place, memory, material, story, or idea. You do not need to know exactly what the scent should smell like; that is what we are here to help you discover.
Step 2: creative review & consultation
We’ll review your submission and arrange a complimentary consultation.

Together, we’ll explore your idea, talk through your fragrance preferences, discuss how and where the scent will be used, and begin shaping a clear creative direction for the project.
Step 3: your scent direction
From your brief and consultation, DKMA Fragrances develops the scent direction that will guide your project.

We’ll define the overall character of the fragrance: its atmosphere, key materials, contrasts, mood, and how we want the scent to unfold.

For more conceptual projects, we’ll also consider how fragrance can best translate the idea, environment, or experience you are creating.
Step 4: initial explorations
Next, we create a series of distinct scent explorations based on your direction.

Each approaches your idea differently rather than offering small variations of the same fragrance. This gives you the opportunity to experience several interpretations and decide which direction feels most like what you imagined.
Step 5: experience & testing
You’ll experience the scent in the way it was intended to be used: on skin, in a space, on a material, or through another testing method appropriate to your project.

Then, tell us what you think.

You never need to speak in fragrance terminology. Warmer, greener, quieter, less sweet, more atmospheric, or even this doesn’t feel like the place I remember can tell us exactly where to go next.

Your feedback guides the refinement of the fragrance until it feels right.
Step 6: your finished scent
Once you approve the final formulation, we’ll prepare your scent in the format established during the design process.

Your custom formula is then archived privately by DKMA Fragrances, making it possible to reproduce, replenish, or continue developing your scent in the future without starting over.

We begin with your vision—what you want the scent to smell like, how you want it to feel, and what you want it to express or evoke.

PLEASE NOTE:

After we review your Bespoke Scent Design Form, we’ll reach out to coordinate a convenient time for a complimentary consultation with one of our fragrance designers. During this conversation, we’ll explore your vision, answer any questions, and confirm whether you’d like to move forward with the Bespoke Scent Design process.

Your project begins with a fragrance concept developed specifically around your brief, rather than adapted from an existing DKMA Fragrances formula.

Original scent explorations are created to interpret your direction and explore different possibilities within the concept.

Your experience with each exploration and your feedback help shape the final formulation.

Once approved, your custom formulation is archived by DKMA Fragrances for future production or continued development.

Your 10 mL Bespoke Fragrance Oil experience includes a personal consultation, three initial fragrance explorations, at-home testing, and one refinement round with a corresponding exploration.

Once your final formulation is approved, you’ll receive a finished 10 mL roll-on fragrance oil and your private formula will be archived by DKMA Fragrances for future production.

Your Bespoke Fragrance Oil experience also includes an exclusive 40% discount on future purchases of your custom fragrance oil, making it easy to replenish your scent whenever needed.

Your Bespoke Fragrance Design experience includes a consultation, three initial fragrance explorations, at-home testing, and a refinement round with a corresponding exploration

Once your final formulation is approved, you’ll receive a finished 50 mL fragrance and your private formula will be archived by DKMA Fragrances for future production.

Additionally, your Bespoke Fragrance Design experience includes an exclusive 40% discount on future purchases of your bespoke fragrance so you can replenish whenever needed.

Your bespoke fragrance formula is created exclusively for you and kept on file for future reorders. When your bottle begins to run low, you may reorder your personalized fragrance or fragrance oil at a 40% discount without repeating the full design and consultation process.

Each reorder is hand blended using your finalized bespoke formula to ensure consistency from bottle to bottle.

To reorder, submit our Contact Us form or email info@dkmafragrances.com. We will confirm your fragrance formula and send your invoice by email.

For scent developed with creative applications in mind, pricing is quoted on a per-project basis.

Scope, testing, final format, quantity, and pricing are established after your initial project review and complimentary consultation.

Additional refinement rounds may be available for $20 each.

This à la carte charge covers the cost of additional fragrance and essential oils, blending materials, the fragrance designer's time, formulation adjustments, and shipping of the refined sample.

If you choose to proceed after the complimentary consultation, an invoice will be sent to you by email. Your Bespoke Scent Design experience officially begins once payment has been received.

Because each fragrance is thoughtfully developed and formulated specifically for you, all payments are final once the bespoke process has begun. At that stage, we’re unable to offer cancellations or refunds.
